On October 25, 2006, ouzo was registered as the national drink by Greece. There are 180 ouzo producers and 370 types of ouzo in Greece. In Plomari, there is a museum belonging to the Barbayanni (Greek: Βαρβαγιάννης) brand, the largest ouzo producer.
